Southwest Virginia Songwriters Association (SVSA). Established 25 years ago, this group has about 70 active members who write a wide variety of music styles. SVSA meets the fourth Wednesday of every month, at the Third Street Coffeehouse (corner of Mountain & Third) in Roanoke. The writers play new songs for each other, then offer critiques and exchange feedback. Once a year SVSA hosts a special showcase event, with workshops held at least twice a year.

Established seven years ago, Fredericksburg Songwriter Showcase provides a forum for a growing community of local and regional songwriters. They offer live, monthly showcases by songwriters who perform a wide variety of styles, including folk, blues, country and jazz. Website

PNSA is a non-profit organization which consists of a variety of songwriters based in the greater Seattle area. The group meets once a month to perform and critique songs, hold discussions and network. PNSA also publishes a quarterly newsletter.

Founded by Paul Jarvis three years ago, this organization has about 70 members who write primarily country, rock and jazz. The guild meets the first Thursday of each month at the Mills Music Store in Bellevue, WA. At the meeting, writers critique each other’s songs, exchange feedback and ideas, and often collaborate.
