SongwriterUniverse is headed by music publishing/A&R veteran Dale Kawashima, who for the past two years was Creative Director for Sony Music Publishing in Los Angeles. Prior to his position at Sony, Kawashima was President of Michael Jackson's ATV Music, and he has also represented the song catalogs of Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Motown, and Burt Bacharach.

In addition, SongwriterUniverse is guided by a prominent group of songwriters who have joined the site's Advisory Board. Hit writers Billy Steinberg, Brenda Russell, Allan Rich, Jud Friedman and Jeff Silbar provide valuable input to ensure SongwriterUniverse will be a positive force for songwriters and artists.
